Seattle Rugby Club Supports USA Military Rugby's UK Tour

Seattle Rugby Club is proud to support the USA Military Rugby team as it travels to the United Kingdom to play the British Army around Remembrance Day and Veterans Day.
Military rugby is part of who we are
Seattle Rugby has a long history with military rugby and the people who play it. Many athletes who have come through our program have served in the U.S. military, and some who wear the Seattle jersey today are still serving.
Club President Kevin Flynn has coached All Army Rugby and Combined Services teams over the years. Those connections helped lay the groundwork for USA Military Rugby.

Built by our people
Flynn, Colonel Mark Drown (U.S. Army, Retired), Club Military Liaison Nick Punimata (U.S. Army, Retired) and Colonel Saleem Razvi (active-duty U.S. Air Force) created USA Military Rugby as a nonprofit organization. The program gives veterans the chance to keep playing in military rugby events and to reconnect with active-duty players and their former teammates. Its home union is the Pacific Northwest Rugby Union, where the team is set up.
Seattle on tour
We're especially proud that five people affiliated with Seattle Rugby Club are traveling to the UK with the team:

Our sponsors stepped up
Seattle Rugby Club sponsors have played an important role in getting the program off the ground. Jerry and Victoria Penington of Penington Painting were its first sponsors. Support has since come from Raymark Plumbing and Sewer; Power Fund III, a donor-advised fund run by former club medical director Brian Power; Rugby Works; Kevin Flynn Consulting; the Pacific Northwest Rugby Union; and Cormack Advertising, run by Seattle Rugby alumnus Duncan Cormack. These sponsors have contributed to the program and helped bring in additional support. Thank you.
Help the program keep growing
The goal is to keep growing USA Military Rugby, connect more veterans with active-duty rugby players and build membership so the organization is sustainable for years to come. Players usually cover their own travel and the coaches and staff volunteer, so donations go toward uniforms, equipment, meals, lodging and transport. Please help if you can.
