Seattle Rugby Club Proudly Supports USA Military Team Tour of the UK

‍Seattle Rugby Club (SRC) is honored to be a key supporter of the upcoming USA Military Rugby Team tour, set to begin on November 3rd through November 13th. The USA Military Rugby Team will be touring the United Kingdom, joining their British military colleagues in honoring Veterans Day (Remembrance Day). This tour marks a historic milestone for USA military rugby, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.

The USA Military team is made up of selections after more than 250 military and veteran rugby players applied to be on the team. The players are Service Academy alumni, MLR, Senior Club, as well as rugby players from all backgrounds. The team will assemble and be hosted in England by the Army Rugby Union and the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in Berkshire, where they will train under the watchful eye of Head Coach Allen Clarke (Director of Rugby at Seattle Seawolves) and build toward their opening match. A huge thanks to Mike Girton, an alum of Seattle Rugby Club and Old Puget Sound Beach, who is also a military veteran and sponsor.

SRC President Kevin Flynn, who is also the team's manager, played a pivotal role in organizing this extraordinary tour along with SRC executive Director Jennie Flynn who has been working on the operations for the trip. This leadership, alongside the club's dedication, has been instrumental in making this event possible.

In addition SRC sponsors have been crucial to the success of this tour:

  • Akuma: Seattle Rugby Club kit supplier and a major donor & kit supplier to the US military team.‍
  • Penington Paint Company (PPC): As the tour’s main sponsor, PPC’s support has been invaluable in bringing this unique opportunity to life.‍
  • Raymark Plumbing: A strong partner of SRC, Raymark employs several of our players and is proud to sponsor this tour.‍
  • The Powerfund: Founded by SRC's PT Brian Power, The Powerfund has been a vital source of support.‍
  • Cormack Advertising: Run by SRC alum Duncan Cormack, Cormack Advertising has generously joined as a sponsor for this incredible tour.

We are also excited to highlight one of the players, John Cullen, an SRC alum who will be representing the USA military team during the tour. His involvement underscores the strong connection between our club and the military rugby community.

This tour is a landmark event for USA military rugby and would not have been possible without the collective effort and support of SRC and our partners.

One more thank you to all the sponsors: Corporate support from Penington Paint Company, Cuisine Solutions, Capstone Research, Rasa, PowerFund, RugbyWorks, CORMACK, and AKUMA Rugby have made this possible.
