Seattle Rugby Club Gathers for Annual General Meeting, Reflects on Successes and Charts Future Course

Club President Kevin Flynn delivered a detailed President's Report, highlighting significant successes such as the continued growth of the women's program, increased administrative support, a rise in alumni membership, and successful partnerships. Challenges addressed included the need for more consistent competition for the men's team, club finances, and ongoing fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
The End of Season Reports for both the Men's and Women's teams showcased impressive progress. The Men's team saw an increase in playing numbers, with 72 registered players including 16 new additions, and multiple players active in Major League Rugby (MLR). The Women's team experienced substantial growth, nearing 65 active players with 20 new participants, and a significant expansion of their coaching staff. Both reports also candidly addressed challenges like consistent competition and field availability.

Jason Filippini presented the Financial Report, providing an overview of the club's financial health and outlining targets for the 2025/26 season, aiming for a positive net income and increased cash balance.
Looking forward, Kellen Gordon and Liz Kirk outlined the ambitious plans for the 2025/26 Men's and Women's seasons, respectively, including detailed schedules for both Fall and Spring campaigns. Jason Jones and Marty Quick presented clear Player Expectations, emphasizing commitment, respect, and community engagement.
A special highlight of the AGM was the recognition of the club's upcoming 60th Anniversary (1966-2026), with Kevin Flynn sharing initial plans for this significant milestone.
The AGM reinforced the Seattle Rugby Club's commitment to its community, its players, and its enduring legacy, setting a clear strategic direction for continued growth and success in the seasons to come.
