Battle of the Border: Season Kicks Off with All-Day Rugby Celebration
September 12 is going to be a day. Not just a rugby match—a full day of it. From morning to evening, the Seattle Rugby Club community is gathering at deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields in Ferndale for Battle of the Border, and whether you're a player, a family, a sponsor, or someone who just wants to be around great rugby and better people, there's a spot for you.

What's Happening
The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Seattle Seawolves Run with the Pack—our friends from the MLS team bringing energy and drawing the crowd in before the matches even start. By 1 p.m., the warm-up match gets underway. Then, at 2:30, Seattle takes on the Ravens, the BC Premier Champions. It's a cross-border winner-take-all match, the kind where pride and bragging rights matter as much as the final score. Winner takes $5,000.
But here's the thing: between matches, during matches, after the final whistle—there's beer garden, food, family-friendly space, and a community gathered to cheer. The whole day ends at Beach Cat Brewing with a social gathering that extends the rugby beyond the field.
Why Show Up
This is the season opener. It's the energy that sets the tone for everything that follows. It's also a chance to see what a Seattle Rugby Club season looks like: competitive, inclusive, and grounded in the people who make it happen. Our members put in the work year-round—on the pitch and off. This day celebrates that.
Supporters & Sponsors
None of this happens without the partners who believe in what we're building. SeafreshGroup and Ultra Natural are presenting the event. The activation, hotel, tent, beverage, post-match meal, and after-party sponsors—they're not just names on a poster. They're the community that shows up for us.

Admission is $10 per person (under 18 free) and $10 per vehicle for parking. Tickets are available at chuckanut.rugby/events/battle. The venue is deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields, 7090 Dahlberg Road, Ferndale, Washington.
