A Legend Remembered: Seattle Rugby Club Celebrates Alex Goff's Hall of Fame Induction

The US Rugby Foundation has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame inductees and the PNW rugby community is celebrating one of its own. Alex Goff, founder of the Goff Rugby Report and the voice of American rugby for over two decades, has been inducted into the US Rugby Hall of Fame presented by Major League Rugby.

It's a recognition long overdue.

For those of us in rugby—whether we play, coach, volunteer, or simply love the game—Alex's name is synonymous with storytelling done right. Since launching the Goff Rugby Report, he's brought attention to every corner of American rugby: the high school phenom nobody's heard of yet, the college underdog with something to prove, the club player grinding it out on weekends for the pure love of the sport. His rankings, his coverage, his analysis—these are the things that connect disparate rugby communities across this country and tell the stories that might otherwise go untold.

But beyond the bylines and the broadcasts, Alex represents something fundamental to rugby itself: a genuine belief in the power of the game to build community and change lives. He's shown up for grassroots rugby when the cameras weren't on. He's lifted up players and programs that needed visibility.
