Women's Match Report v Castaway Wanderers

Nineteen Saracens women made the arduous journey to Victoria, along unplowed roads, through snow-covered BC to take on Castaway Wanderers RFC.

Castaway got off to a fast start, scoring 33 points in the first 20 minutes and a 44-0 halftime lead. The short roster saw the Sarries caught out in the 2nd half as they had to finish the match with only 14 players on the field. Despite being short-handed, Kendra Young found the try zone for the Sarries' only try of the match, converted by Val Bank.

The final whistle saw an 86-7 win for the Wanderers.

After the match, Coach Zern offered special recognition to those players who had taken on unfamiliar roles and for outstanding performances from the reserves.

The Saracens women have two weekends off, taking the field next on 3/17 for a rematch against Castaway.
