Sarries Men's Premier Secure a Win on the Road against James Bay
Sarries Downs James Bay on Vancouver Island
Saturday saw the best start in a game of this season for Seattle Saracens on the road to James Bay. Within 2 minutes of the start Seattle was awarded a penalty which was slotted by Shalom Suniula.
After a good attacking sequence in the 18th minute, John Valz finished with a try which was then converted by Suniula.
Shortly after Seattle had another great attack and Seattle center Sequoyah Burke Combs ran in unchallenged for an unconverted try.
Seattle got themselves into penalty trouble and which let James Bay back in game with 2 quick penalties and yellow card to Suniula for not using his arms in the tackle. This left the score 6-15 to Seattle at half time.
Early in the second half Seattle forced an error inside its own 22 and this led to James Bay #10 sneaking over the line for a try.Moments later James Bay was awarded penalty try from scrum inside Seattle’s 22.
The Sarries fired themselves up and started to increase their work rate and managed to win a scrum against the home team 40m out. Seattle #8 Aladdin Schirmer ran 40 meters for a try under the posts. Converted by Suniula made the score 20-29 for Seattle.
This turned the momentum of the game. Seattle had a great set piece and Shalom Suniula made a nice break and put Burke-Combs a way for another try.
Seattle Fullback Moses Munez Lasava then ran in another try to win the game 36-20.
Seattle will ride this winning vibe through this week’s break for Thanksgiving and be fired up on December 2nd to take on Burnaby at home.
